I read the whole book in one day because I was captivated by the vulnerable and raw way the author details her adventures and also the horrific things life has thrown at her. She is the epitome of strength and dignity, facing everything head on to take control of her own happiness. I just know that this book is going to help others with trauma in their lives. There were several relatable points for me. It was encouraging to know that a lot of what has been on my heart to implement as a parent are the very things she encourages parents to do in order to lessen the chances of similar trauma in future generations. Nature is an incredible tool for developing one’s character and healing. Truly inspiring!
The way Draya writes her whole world is unlike anything I’ve read. It’s beautifully powerful to hear how she crawls out of such a black space, creating her own light and sharing the healing of nature with others. Her story is moving and emotional and relatable in many aspects. 10/10 recommend getting your hands on this wild journey. Not many people get out of bad spots in life no matter the age, I think this is a moving testament to another way of pulling yourself back to ground and coming out on top!
