RANGE TO RIDGE
About The Event
Range to Ridge: Building Elk Hunting Skills
Master the terrain and the techniques—from field tactics to gear selection—in an immersive experience tailored for women.
Step beyond the basics and into the heart of elk country. Range to Ridge is a hands-on workshop in New Mexico where you'll learn everything from elk regulations and habitat scouting to calls, navigation, and safe shooting practices. With experienced women hunters guiding your learning—you’ll build the skills, confidence, and community you need to succeed on your own. This immersive field experience is about understanding the land, reading the herd, and embracing the ethical side of hunting.
The NRA Whittington Center is without a doubt the finest shooting complex in the nation. Its 33,000 acres nest among the scenic western mountains and high mesa country of New Mexico.
Lodging: You'll be staying on campus in the Competitor Housing Buildings for a comfortable and community-driven experience!
This all-inclusive lodging offers a dormitory-style setup designed for camaraderie and relaxation. Each building features 15 bedrooms divided into three wings, with five bedrooms per wing. Every room includes two single beds, a kitchenette, and access to two shared bathrooms with showers. At the heart of the building, you'll find a spacious central lobby, the perfect gathering place to unwind, share stories, and connect with fellow students after a day of adventure. Cozy, convenient, and designed with community in mind—this is more than just a stay; it’s an experience!
This clinic is limited in size so women can receive the best individualized instruction.

DEER CAMP
About The Event
Join us in Big Timber for an immersive, hands-on hunting experience designed for women* looking to build confidence and skills in the field. This mentored rifle hunt takes place on private lands, offering the opportunity to hunt whitetail and mule deer. You’ll be supported by experienced mentors every step of the way, learning alongside other women in a supportive, empowering environment.
This isn't a guided hunt, but rather a chance to actively participate, learn, and grow as a hunter. You'll walk away with a deeper understanding of hunting, conservation, and the practical skills needed to continue your journey.
What You’ll Learn:
Conservation History: Explore the vital role hunting plays in wildlife management and conservation efforts.
Ethical Hunting: Dive into discussions on ethical hunting practices and the responsibilities we carry as hunters.
Habitat & Behavior: Learn to identify key habitats and understand the behavior patterns of deer to develop smarter hunting strategies.
Spot & Stalk: Get hands-on training in spotting and stalking game in diverse Montana landscapes.
Shooting Skills: Practice shot placement and stable shooting positions to improve your success in the field.
Field Experience: Gain over 20 hours of in-the-field training with real hunting scenarios, tracking, stalking, and (hopefully) harvesting game.
Game Care & Cooking: Learn the fundamentals of field dressing, butchering, and cooking wild game.
All participants are required to comply with Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) hunting regulations and have the appropriate licenses for the species and district they will hunt.
This event is about more than a successful hunt—it's about gaining the knowledge, skills, and confidence to continue your hunting journey independently.
